Liability Waiver

Please read this waiver carefully. It affects your legal rights. By accepting it in the Gear Up MMA app or on this website, you agree to its terms.

1Activities covered

This waiver covers boxing, Muay Thai, and kickboxing classes, drills, pad work, sparring, and conditioning booked through Gear Up MMA at Partner gyms (the “Activities”).

2Assumption of risk

I understand the Activities involve physical contact, strikes, falls, and intense exercise. Risks include bruises, cuts, sprains, fractures, concussions and other head injuries, heart problems, and, in rare cases, permanent disability or death.

I accept these risks voluntarily.

3Health and fitness

  • I confirm I am physically fit to take part in the Activities.
  • I will speak with a doctor before training if I have a medical condition, injury, or other health concern.
  • I will tell the instructor about any condition or injury before class.
  • I will stop training and tell the instructor if I feel unwell or get hurt.

4Rules and equipment

  • I will follow the instructor’s directions and the Partner gym’s rules.
  • I will wear the protective gear the class requires.
  • I will train within my own ability and experience level.

5Release of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, I release Gear Up MMA, its owners, employees, and agents from all claims for injury, illness, death, or property loss arising from my participation in the Activities, including claims based on ordinary negligence.

Partner gyms remain responsible for their own facilities, staff, and instruction, and will ask me to sign their own waiver.

6Medical treatment

If I am unable to give consent, I authorize emergency medical treatment. I accept responsibility for its costs.

7Personal property

Gear Up MMA is not responsible for lost, stolen, or damaged personal items at Partner gyms.

8Participants under 18

For participants under 18, a parent or legal guardian accepts this waiver on the participant’s behalf and agrees to its terms.

9Severability

If any part of this waiver is found invalid, the rest stays in full effect.

1. About Gear Up MMA

Gear Up MMA is a booking platform. It connects users with independent martial arts gyms and instructors (“Partners”) for boxing, Muay Thai, and kickboxing classes. Gear Up MMA does not run gyms, employ instructors, or deliver training. Each Partner is responsible for its classes, staff, facilities, and safety rules.

2. Eligibility

You must be 18 or older to create an account. For users under 18, a parent or legal guardian must create the account, accept these terms, and accept the Liability Waiver on the user’s behalf.

3. Your account

  • Give accurate and current information.
  • Keep your login details private. You are responsible for all activity on your account.
  • Report any unauthorized use to support@gearupmmaapp.com.
  • Gear Up MMA reserves the right to suspend or close accounts which break these terms.

4. Bookings and payments

  • You book and pay for classes one session at a time. No membership or long-term contract is required.
  • The price of each class shows before you confirm a booking.
  • Payments go through the Platform’s payment provider. Gear Up MMA does not store full card details.
  • Package deals are not available yet. Future packages will follow the terms shown at purchase.

5. Cancellations and refunds

  • Cancellation windows and refund eligibility follow the policy shown on the class listing at the time of booking.
  • If a Partner cancels a class, contact support@gearupmmaapp.com to arrange a refund or a new booking.
  • Missed classes without a cancellation are not refunded, unless the class listing states otherwise.

6. Health and safety

  • Combat sports involve physical contact and a risk of injury. Read and accept the Liability Waiver before your first class.
  • Speak with a doctor before training if you have any medical concern.
  • Follow each Partner’s rules, safety instructions, and gear requirements.
  • Tell the instructor about any injury or condition before class starts.

7. Community and conduct

  • The Platform includes chat with training partners and trainers. You agree not to:

    • harass, threaten, or abuse other users, Partners, or staff
    • post illegal, hateful, sexual, or misleading content
    • share another person’s personal information without consent
    • send spam or promote unrelated products
    • access accounts, data, or systems without permission

    Gear Up MMA reserves the right to remove content and restrict accounts which break these rules.

8. Partners (gyms and coaches)

  • Partners agree to:

    • list accurate class details, prices, schedules, and disciplines
    • hold the licenses, insurance, and certifications required where they operate
    • keep facilities and equipment safe
    • honor confirmed bookings

    Separate partnership terms cover commercial arrangements with Partners.

9. Intellectual property

The Gear Up MMA name, logo, website, app, and content belong to Gear Up MMA. Do not copy, modify, or distribute them without written permission. Content you post stays yours. You give Gear Up MMA permission to display it on the Platform.

10. Privacy

Gear Up MMA’s Privacy Policy explains how personal information is collected, used, and protected.

11. Disclaimers

The Platform is provided “as is.” Gear Up MMA does not guarantee uninterrupted service, the availability of any class, or the quality of any Partner’s instruction.

12. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Gear Up MMA is not liable for injuries, losses, or damages arising from classes, training, Partner facilities, or interactions between users. Gear Up MMA’s total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid through the Platform for the booking related to the claim.

13. Changes to these terms

Gear Up MMA will update these terms from time to time. The “Last updated” date shows the current version. Using the Platform after an update means you accept the new terms.
